Ambergris Caye, Belize

Spent the last week hunting the flats of Ambergris Caye Belize with Captain Shane Smith and James Johnson. We managed to hook Permit on fly everyday we fished, landed a couple, missed some good eats and I broke off the biggest one of the trip after a 15 minute battle wading a flat near the house. Shane and I went way up into some Lagoon’s and found some very happy Tarpon that ate everything we threw close to them. There seemed to be Bonefish everywhere we looked as long as it was less than a foot deep and lots of them were tailing. Fished three days with guide Marco Marin and then made a canoe into a flats skiff and spent the last two days doing it ourselves. Belize was a GREAT trip with excellent fishing, awesome weather, fun night life and can’t wait to get back next February!
